Great article. I think all of us need to savor each and every moment we spend with each of our children no matter what our age. Time flies by way too fast. Glad you had a good time. Let’s do it again next year! : )

Lovely! My youngest turns 10 next week (oldest is 20) and I get questions about whether I’m his grandmother and whether he was–the politest term I’ve heard is an “oops baby.” I’ve been asked if all my kids (who all look exactly alike to the point where baby pictures must be labeled) are from the same marriage. People are rude. But I am relishing my time with my youngest–I’m 2/3 of the way “done” in terms of the active parenting years and use of a pediatrician. My youngest gets to do things the older ones couldn’t, because there is no one younger who needs naps and diapers and such. And I’m a better mom for my older years and more experience. I’m more tired, but definitely a better mom.

Thanks, Fran! I just got back from roller skating with Chiara and her classmates. This older mom thing will either keep me young or kill me! 🙂

Mary this got me all teary-eyed! I can’t think of you as an “older mom,” but I guess that’s just my perception at work.

All of your kids are great – and what a great mom you are, at any age!
