If a kid gets his hands on a game like GTA V it’s the parents’ fault.

As for virtual violence breeding violence, it’s not really been proven that this is a thing that happens (there’s some decent research available online). Violence has been decreasing in the US and Europe for decades now, despite more and more graphic films, games, television, etc.

Should games like that be kept away from people that have a serious mental illness that makes them specifically susceptible to violence? Yes. Mental health should really be taken more seriously in general. We should invest more money in research, proactive help, and prevention.

The problem is that feminists expressing outrage to other feminists doesn’t bring about change. I’m talking about the kind of outrage we see from feminists over other issues that matter to them, outrage where they speak out in places that will reach the general public and get into the media and actually make a difference. And the larger feminist/pro-women organizations have the ability to do that if they want. That’s what we need, or no one will listen. No one is going to Feminist Frequency unless she’s already a feminist. It’s preaching to the choir.

I don’t have any children, but this is something people need to know. My step-daughter-in-law is a programmer and has been telling us about “Gamergate.” I can’t believe how graphic video games have become.
