Mary earned her 200-hour yoga teacher certification in 2020 and has been teaching studio classes, workshops and more ever since. A registered teacher with Yoga Alliance, RYT-200, she teaches a variety of yoga styles, including hatha, gentle, flow, and spiritually focused yoga. She has additional certifications in Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Reiki (Level II), Mindfulness Coaching, and Elemental Meditation.<\/p>\n

A writer<\/a> and retreat leader who has practiced and studied yoga since the late 1980s, Mary honors the holistic approach that is at the heart of this ancient practice, striving to nourish body, mind and spirit through physical practice (asana) as well as breath work (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana). While recognizing and holding space for the roots of yoga, she will work with your group, studio, or retreat center to create a yoga program that fits your audience and overall goals.<\/p>\n

Mary can also provide specialized programs that blend yoga with Catholic-Christian spirituality. She leads weekend retreats as well as day-long or half-day workshops that bring together the spirituality of her Catholic-Christian heritage with the beauty of yoga, creating an exciting and effective pathway for exploring ideals rooted in the Gospel in new and creative ways.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was introduced to Mary, as ‘the teacher who does a great job with those with lower back issues.’ When I started to attend Mary’s classes, I realized that not only was I feeling stronger physically, but I was spiritually being nourished by Mary’s compassionate meditations and chants. I am of Indian descent and the combination of Mary’s angelic voice reciting ancient Sanskrit and Hindu chants allowed me to connect to my inner essence in ways very different than how I would feel after Mass at church or a Puja at the temple. There was something unique about Mary’s style of teaching yoga.
